SimWalk Validation

SimWalk models every pedestrian as a single agent

Validation in simulation defines the process of ensuring that a model represents reality at a given confidence level and that the model is a reasonable representation of the actual system. Specifically, a simulation software is only as good as the underlying algorithm that is implemented.

In this section we will provide the latest papers and research results concerning the validation of SimWalk pedestrian algorithm.

Real-world evacuation validation (Football stadium Philadelphia): After having conducted an evacuation simulation study of Franklin Field football stadium in Philadelphia, the simulation results were validated through a real-world evacuation event at the same location.
