Planned or extended stations and refurbishments - Station operators and planners constantly have to adapt transit facilities to the increasing capacity needs of public transport. Most if not all changes directly influence or are influenced by passenger issues like changing trains, transfer times, walking comfort or dwell times.
SimWalk Transport allows to analyse the impact of different planned station layouts (additional platforms, passages, stairs, other objects etc.) on passenger flows, be it a new planned station or a station refurbishmment. Emergency simulation in railway, metro and bus stations - Public transport transit facilities are highly vulnerable targets for a multitude of threats: terrorist attacks, natural disasters, technical failures, fires, explosions etc. In cases of emergency it is crucial that passengers can be evacuated from stations safely and in time.
With SimWalk Transport , emergency cases can be simulated and analyzed during normal operations by trigginering an incident. Upon this signal, all passengers try to reach the next emergency exit or any other predefined exit and the respective evacuation time may be analyzed.
