Increasing capacities, improving performance and containing costs are important goals in managing passenger flows of train stations and other traffic facilities. In this traffic management project, SimWalk allowed to predict future passenger circulations caused by a planned enlargement of the train station layout.

How will the planned enlargement influence passenger flows and passenger experience? Does it improve or reduce facility performance? How does this performance influence project costs? Simulation with SimWalk provided strategic insights into to transfer behavior of passengers. Based on pedestrian analysis, recommendations could be made as a part of the general enlargement evaluation.
